  • Everything You Need to Know About Our Door To Door Delivery Services
Here at Tudor International Freight, we are proud to offer door to door delivery services to selected locations around the world.

To ensure that we only offer the best door to door delivery service, we only allow it when we know that customs clearances and deliveries are professionally controlled at the delivery destination.

This means that we can ensure that your package or items will be successfully delivered with care and professionalism throughout the entire delivery service.

Best delivery times for your excess baggage

Once that you have chosen to use our door to door delivery service, we then provide you with documentation that you will likely be required to fill out so that the item(s) receives clearance at your country of destination.

We do this to ensure that there is no delay during customs clearance, as improperly filled out paperwork can lead to delays.

Door to door shipping costs

Our door to door rates are inclusive of all related transport costs up to delivery at the ultimate destination. However, we exclude duties, quarantine fees or similar costs in the unlikely event that they are levied by authorities.

Shipments of used personal effects are not usually applicable to taxes, and door to door shipments within the EU are not subject to customs clearance procedures at the moment.

Door to door delivery of dangerous and hazardous goods

It’s worth remembering that all door to door shipments  by air are subject to normal air freight restrictions.

This means that packages must not include substances that are:

  • Flammable
  • Corrosive
  • Toxic
  • Oxidising
  • Explosive
  • Radioactive
  • Infectious
  • Comprised of compressed gas
  • Dangerous when wet
  • Spontaneously combustible
  • Self-reactive
  • Contain organic peroxides and regulated material.

This can include items such as aerosols, perfumes, batteries, fuel, or firearms and ammunition.

You can find out more information on what is considered to be dangerous or a hazardous item on the official International Air Transport Association website.

Door to door delivery of valuable items

It’s also worth noting that Tudor does not recommend shipping the following items:

  • Cash
  • Traveller’s cheques
  • Stamp collections
  • Deeds
  • Tickets
  • Jewellery
  • Watches

Shipping lithium batteries

In January 2013 the IATA made changes to rules regarding the transportation of lithium ion and metal batteries.

The rules now state that there must be no more than two batteries per package, which must be contained within equipment, such as the inside of an electronic device.

If a package contains more than two batteries, it could lead to not only a confiscation of goods, but also prosecution.

Consequently, Tudor International Freight strongly urges its customers to adhere to these regulations.

You can find out more via the IATA lithium batteries rules and regulations page.
