The Northern Ireland Protocol comes into effect on 1 January 2021. This piece of Brexit legislation will lead to changes in the way goods move between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Trader Support Service is completely free to use and allows traders to find answers to commonly posed questions.
From 1 January 2021, traders may require an "XI prefixed EORI" number. This will be the case if you fall into any of the following categories:
- Business in Northern Ireland who move goods to Great Britain
- Business in Northern Ireland who move goods outside the EU
- Business in Great Britain who need to make declarations in Northern Ireland
- Business from outside the EU who move goods into Northern Ireland and not not already have an EU EORI number
Registration to the Trader Support Service means that you are automatically allocated an XI EORI number.
