Oscar will be working in the office alongside Andrew Orrell, Paul Johnstone and James Barrett in the projects section.
Tudor caught up with Oscar ahead of his first week at the company in Horsforth. It's safe to say he's clocked up some air miles during his time in the logistics.
Introducing himself to the website, he said: "I am originally from Spain and was brought up in S.L Escorial, a town which is the outskirts of Madrid. I first got into logistics whilst living in Brazil, the company I worked for was called Mixed in Sao Paulo. I know what you are thinking, that’s a long way to go just to work for in logistics, but there’s logic to it, my wife is Brazilian.
"Our next chapter was to then move from Sao Paulo to London. In London I have had several jobs within Logistics but I would highlight Chromalox Industrial Heating (Oil and Gas Projects) as the one most of note. My role within the company was as Logistics Coordinator for almost two years which was hard but very enjoyable at the same time. There was also Burberry LTD, where I was temping for six months doing Customs Compliance," he added.
An avid football fan, Oscar is lifelong supporter of Atletico Madrid. He admitted one of the best moments of his life was when he witnessed his side upset the odds to pip arch-rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona to the La Liga title.
Oscar reminisced back to 2014: "It was amazing, I never expected us to beat Barcelona to the title. I remember we were playing Barcelona and we needed a draw to win the title, I just expected us to get thrashed but we got the draw and did it!
"Diego Simeone is an amazing coach; he’s an idol and is loved by every supporter at the club. Currently, we aren’t doing as well as we have done in the past but nothing can change the fact we beat the two giants of Spanish football to the title."
Having spent his most recent years in London, a new culture and new challenge awaits Oscar. He admitted he is excited about the prospect of working at Tudor and settling down into life in West Yorkshire.
"I am very excited about having the chance to work at such a brilliant company like Tudor International Freight. The reason I wanted to work here is because it is Oil & Gas focused and it is a small/medium company where I can learn and get involved in many different things.
“It’s the first time I’ll be living in the area of Yorkshire, it seems a beautiful place and I look forward to living in Leeds," he concluded.
If we have any tips for you Oscar, we’d recommend you get used to drinking Yorkshire Tea for a start!
