Felixstowe, which is already the UK’s largest port has large investment plans for the future.
The port, which already handles 44% of all UK container traffic, is set to extend berths eight and nine by 190 metres later this year, which will allow for two larger container ships to be at the port at the same time.
Earlier this year, the Port of Felixstowe welcomed the largest container ship in the world, the MSC Oscar.
